MICROLAX Overview:
MICROLAX offers gentle and effective relief within 30 minutes. Unlike suppositories, this micro-enema acts directly in the rectum and is barely noticeable during insertion due to its thin round tube neck.
The combination of active ingredients in MICROLAX helps release water in the stool, resulting in loosened stool and predictable relief within half an hour, similar to a natural bowel movement.
Since MICROLAX works locally, it is unlikely to cause dependence on laxatives. It is gentle and suitable for use in children under 3 years old and pregnant women.
Each enema tube contains 5 ml of solution, equivalent to one teaspoon.
Benefits of Microlax:
Whenever there is a need to relieve constipation, facilitate bowel movements, or address disruptions in bowel movement, MICROLAX is the recommended solution. It can also be used to prepare for rectal examinations.
MICROLAX is a fast-acting micro-enema that softens bowel movements and aids in gentle bowel emptying without irritating the bowel lining.
Microlax Ingredients:
Each MICROLAX tube contains the following active ingredients: sodium citrate dihydrate 450 mg, sodium lauryl sulfoacetate 45 mg, and sorbitol 3.125 g.
MICROLAX also contains glycerol, sorbic acid, and purified water, making up a total of 5 ml.
For more information, please refer to the package insert.
How to Use:
- Twist off the cap and squeeze a drop of the solution out of the tube to facilitate insertion.
- Sit on the toilet in your usual position or slightly squat. Insert the tube’s neck fully into your rectum. The rounded tip of the tube is thinner than a suppository, ensuring painless and safe insertion when used as directed. This feature makes it suitable for individuals of all ages, including children under 3 years old.
- Gently squeeze out the entire contents (5 ml) of the tube into the rectum.
- While keeping the tube squeezed tightly, withdraw the tip from the rectum. Tighten your buttocks muscles to prevent the solution from leaking out. Note: To allow the stool to soften, it’s important not to have a bowel movement immediately; wait at least 5 minutes.
- A gentle bowel movement will occur within 30 minutes after use. It will likely be a normal bowel movement that can be controlled.
- After use, dispose of the micro-enema easily and hygienically.
If you have any questions, please consult your doctor.
Tips for Use with Children under 3 years of age:
MICROLAX is easy to use and gentle when your baby is in the usual position for changing diapers. Insert the tube neck only halfway (as indicated on the tube neck) and squeeze only half the contents into your baby’s rectum. After squeezing in the solution, gently bring your baby’s legs together and press them on the changing pad to prevent the solution from leaking out.
