DOLMEN is presented in containers of 10 effervescent tablets, in an aluminiumtube. The tablets are round, white and do not have any marks. Acetyl salicylic acid belongs to the analgesic, antipyretic and anti inflammatory non steroid group of medicines, codeine phosphate is a light opiate and ascorbic acid is vitamin C. Dolmen is indicated for the symptomatic relief of occasional light or moderate pain, such as headaches, dental pain, menstrual pain and back ache. It is also indicated for the treatment of non rheumatic inflammation and the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile arthritis, osteoarthritis and rheumatic fever. It is also indicated for fevers.

Before Taking Dolmen:

Before using this product, please take note of the following precautions:

Avoid Dolmen if you have a history of gastric ulcers or repeated duodenal or gastric discomfort.

Individuals with asthmatic reactions or allergies to anti-inflammatories, acetyl salicylic acid, analgesics, or the colorant tartrazine should refrain from using Dolmen.

Do not use it if you are allergic to codeine phosphate, ascorbic acid, or any other component of this medicine.

Consult your healthcare provider if you have asthma, rhinitis, uticaria, or similar conditions before using Dolmen.

Individuals with haemophilia or other blood coagulation problems that increase the risk of internal hemorrhages should avoid this medication.

It is contraindicated if you are currently undergoing treatment with oral anticoagulants (blood clotting drugs).

Consult your doctor before using Dolmen if you have kidney and/or liver problems (renal and/or hepatic insufficiency).

Avoid using Dolmen if you have renal stone fragmentation accompanied by oxaluria or aciduria, or if you have normal urinary pH.

Patients with haematic alterations such as glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, haemocromatosis, sideroblastic anemia, or thalassemia should avoid using Dolmen.

Individuals with respiratory insufficiency should not use this product.

It is not suitable for individuals below the age of 16, as acetyl salicylic acid has been associated with Reye’s Syndrome, a rare but serious illness. Avoid Dolmen if you have bile disorders.

It is contraindicated during the third trimester of pregnancy.

Be cautious if you:

Have reduced kidney, heart, or liver function, cranial injuries, hyperthyroidism, prostatic hypertrophy, suprarenal insufficiency, blood clotting disorders, or are undergoing anticoagulant treatment.

Consult your doctor before using Dolmen, as it may interact with certain medications and lead to unwanted effects (see ‘Use of other medicines’).

Have a history of rhinitis or hives. It is advisable to consult your healthcare provider before use.

Have a history of gallstones or gout. Consult your doctor before using Dolmen. Are diabetic.

Dolmen contains ascorbic acid, which may affect glucose tests and provide inaccurate results in urine glucose tests using reactive strips.

Have high intracranial pressure or have experienced cranial trauma. Caution is advised, as it can increase cerebrospinal fluid pressure.

Intend to continue Dolmen treatment beyond 10 days. In such cases, consult your doctor.

Regularly consume alcohol (three or more drinks per day), as this may potentially cause liver damage and increase the risk of digestive hemorrhage.

Undergo blood, urine, or other diagnostic tests. Inform your healthcare provider that you are taking Dolmen, as it may affect test results.

Are scheduled for surgical interventions while on continued Dolmen administration.

Inform your doctor or dentist in advance. Have a tendency towards addiction or substance abuse, as prolonged use of Dolmen, which contains codeine, can lead to dependence.

Avoid systematic administration of Dolmen for preventing possible discomfort caused by vaccines.

Taking with Food and Drink: To minimize the risk of stomach hemorrhage, take Dolmen after meals or with some food.

If you regularly consume alcohol (three or more drinks per day, including beer, wine, or spirits), exercise caution when using Dolmen, as it may increase the chances of stomach bleeding.

Pregnancy:

If you are pregnant or suspect you might be, consult your doctor before taking it. The use during the first and second trimesters of pregnancy can be dangerous for the fetus or embryo and must be closely monitored by a healthcare professional. It should not be taken during the third trimester.

Breastfeeding:

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using any medication while breastfeeding. Dolmen should not be administered while breastfeeding, as it is excreted in breast milk.

Driving and Using Machines: Dolmen may cause drowsiness, so exercise caution when driving, operating machinery, or engaging in activities that require concentration.

Important Information about Dolmen’s Components: Each tablet contains 384mg of sodium. Patients on low-sodium diets should use caution when taking this medication.

How to Take:

Unless your doctor has provided different instructions, follow these guidelines:

Dissolve one effervescent tablet in half a glass of water. Wait for the tablet to completely dissolve and for the effervescence to subside before consuming. Take Dolmen after meals or with some food for best results.

Oral Administration:

For adults and individuals over 16 years of age, the recommended dosage is one effervescent tablet every 4-6 hours, up to a maximum of eight tablets per day if necessary. If you have reduced kidney or liver function, consult your doctor for appropriate dosage adjustments. Dolmen should be taken as needed for pain relief or fever. Once the symptoms subside, discontinue the use of Dolmen. If pain persists for more than 10 days, fever lasts for more than three days, or if symptoms worsen or new ones appear, discontinue the treatment and seek medical advice.

Storage of Dolmen:

Keep it out of the reach and sight of children. Store the tube tightly closed at temperatures below 25°C. Do not use it after the expiration date indicated on the container.
